CORN FARMING

Corn does best when planted in short — not long — rows.

It’s better to have several shorter rows, placed side-by-side, than one long row. Planting in a square pattern helps the corn cross-pollinate. To ensure the corn grows correctly, it’s a good idea to plant one variety in a single area, rather than two or more.

CASSAVA FARMING

Considering the ease of cultivating cassava, reduced inputs, hardiness of the cassava plant, and also its high market demand, cassava farming is conclusively the most lucrative agribusiness for all and sundry.

SHEEP FARMING

The stratified sheep system is unique to the UK, and is perfectly designed to play on the strengths of different breeds and the environments and habitats of the country. The UK is made up of a huge range of terrains and landscapes, playing host to approximately 90 different sheep breeds and crosses.

Click here to find out more about different sheep breeds in the UK. While not every sheep farm in the UK is involved in the stratified system, operating a ‘closed flock’ instead (one that has little or no exchange of breeding animals with other farms), the stratified system is widespread and very important. Of those farms involved in the stratified system, there will be considerable variation – some only being involved in one tier, other in two, and a small number having all three tiers within their business

PIG FARMING

TPiggery farming has been recognized as one of the profitable venture among the rural masses. This venture has proved to be one of the most important livelihood options. Generally the pigs are reared for pork, considering the increasing trend of pork consumers in Sikkim; Piggery farming will certainly take an industrial form of livelihood in Sikkim in future.

POULTRY FARMING

Poultry farming in The Ivory Coast is playing an important role in the total economy and fulfilling the nutrition demand in The Ivory Coast. Reports shows that some people are becoming billionaires by commercial poultry farming in the Ivory Coast. Most of the farmers of The Ivory Coast raise egg laying or broiler chicken. Raising some other domestic birds can also be seen in The Ivory Coast.

Among the poultry birds, quail farming is becoming popular day by day. Some people raise poultry for family consumption and most of the farmers raise poultry commercial for profit.
